Life Conversations

As a pastor, I am available when you need someone to listen deeply and to care:

Pastoral Conversations - Sometimes you need someone to talk to in confidence to get another perspective on your life. I have been meeting with individuals for pastoral conversation for more than 25 years. I am a sensitive and compassionate listener. I listen with the heart and offer honest and direct feedback.  I am available to listen and to pray with you, if you desire. (Pastoral conversations are not the same as psychological counseling and you may be referred for counseling, if needed)

Spiritual Direction - Spiritual Direction happens when two people (you and me) listen for the deepest longings of your heart and for the still, small voice of God.  If you seek spiritual direction, it is a sign that God is already at work in you. When we turn toward God, we discover that God has been turned towards us all along. I will introduce you to a variety of spiritual practices and readings that help to relax the body, calm the mind and open the spirit. This “stillness” allows you to discern more deeply the presence of God. Together we will listen for how that Presence wants to make a difference in your life.

Vocational Discernment - The Buddha said, “Your purpose in life is to find your Purpose and pursue it with all your heart and mind”. Christians believe we are called to serve God and our neighbor in all that we do as modeled by Jesus Christ. I have many years of experience working with college students to help them hear God’s call - whether as an Accountant or a Teacher, a Lawyer or a Preacher. But God doesn’t only call the young. After working for many years, some people find themselves rethinking their life’s purpose. Discontent can be an invitation to follow your deepest longing and allow God to make a difference in the world through you. I can help you listen for God’s leading.
